There were over 80 children signed up for the 2017 Summer Reading Program. For six weeks we divided into groups of PreK (age three) through kindergarten, first through third grades and fourth through sixth grades for reading and activities. We did fun things like birdhouses, puzzles, drawing, tangrams, planting, balloons etc. We also had art and activity day on Mondays, as well as a movie and popcorn or Lego Club on Fridays.
In addition to all the fun we had, each child had a reading goal to be completed by July 21. We had 38 children complete their goals and enjoy a pool party and other prizes. The weather wasn’t great, but thanks to the pool staff, fun was had by all!
