1924 – Stella Heimendinger – 2017

Stella Heimendinger, the daughter of John and Mary (Hromatka) Maciolek, was born on April 10, 1924 in Jackson County, Minnesota. She grew up on farms in the Jackson and Cottonwood counties and Slayton and Currie areas before they settled down south of Avoca, Minnesota. She attended Bondin Country School and the Slayton High School. Stella was united in marriage to Dean Heimendinger on April 17, 1941 in Marshall, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Fulda, Minnesota until they moved to Lamberton, Minnesota in 1958. They were divorced in 1964 and she then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where she lived until 1989 when she moved to Worthington, Minnesota. Stella moved to Fulda in 2000 and in 2011 she entered the Maple Lawn Nursing home where she passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the age of 92. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. Stella enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and crafts. She also liked sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include her son Gene Lee Heimendinger, Austin, TX; son-in-law Gene Kieper, Bayport, MN; grandson Keith Heimendinger, Austin, TX; three sisters: Agnes Morley, Bemidji, MN, Mary Davy, Shoreview, MN and RoseMary Schweigert, Fulda, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Gary Heimendinger, daughter Sharon Kieper: four brothers: John, Lenard, Frank and Leo and sister Gladys.

The funeral was held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting celebrating.  The organist was Mary Ann Boom. The song leader was Sheila Crowley. The honorary pallbearers were her nieces and nephews. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Cemetery Fulda, MN.
