1933 – Stanley Alvin Van Iperen- 2019
Stanley Van Iperen, the son of Peter and Ollie (Starkenburg) Van Iperen, was born on June 7, 1933 in Sibley, IA. He grew up on a farm and attended country school and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull, IA. Stan was united in marriage to Stephena Granstra on August 24, 1953 in Ocheyden, IA. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Sibley area until 1963. He then started an egg route, Stan’s Produce, where he bought eggs from local farmers. In 1968 they purchased a farm near Lake Wilson, MN and in 1987, due to health reasons, they retired and moved into Lake Wilson. In the summer of 2014 Stan entered the Slayton Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and passed away there on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the age of 85. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson. He enjoyed attending farm sales and finding a good deal. He was always interested in current events and listened to the news and read the newspapers.
Survivors include his wife, Stephena Van Iperen of Lake Wilson, MN; 8 children, Lucinda (Donald) Vogel of Chandler, MN, Jerry Van Iperen of Edgerton, MN, Steven Van Iperen of Slayton, MN, Orv Van Iperen and his friend, Sue Gustaf of Lake Wilson, MN, Donald (Mary) Van Iperen of Lake Wilson, MN, Lisa (Lennie) Carlson of Lake Wilson, MN, Stan (Sheila) Van Iperen Jr. of Slayton, MN and Justin (Jessica) Van Iperen of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; son-in-law, Mark Engbarth of Lake Wilson, MN; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Annalene Van Iperen and LaVonne (David) Vander Grift; brothers-in-law, Dennis Vanden Berg and Bernard (Elsie) Granstra. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lynette Engbarth, daughter-in-law, Teresa Van Iperen and sister, Dione Vanden Berg.
Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Lake Wilson, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday February 23, 2019 with Rev. Ethanie Schmidt officiating. The organist is Darlene Bose. The pallbearers are Ivan Vogel, Mark Vogel, James Van Iperen, Kurt Van Iperen, Logan Van Iperen, Marcus Engbarth, Kyle Carlson, Hunter Carlson and Michael Van Iperen. Interment at Hillside Cemetery Lake Wilson, MN.
