The Slayton Martial Arts Center attended the annual Tae Kwon Do tournament at the Redwood Falls Community Center on March 18, 2017. Teams from Fargo, ND; Clark SD; Gary, SD; Tea, SD, along with Minnesota teams from Moorhead, Morris, Tracy, North Branch, Wabasso, Redwood Falls, and Slayton were in attendance.
Instructor Joe Muldoon said, “Tim and I are incredibly proud of all our kids who participated in our Tae Kwon Do association’s annual Redwood Falls tournament. Competition was tough. Our kids were competing against high caliber competitors from as far away as Morris and North Branch Minnesota, and they really stepped up to the challenge and did their best.
In fact, three of our kids Noah Mathiowetz, Sara Mathiowetz and Naomi Berglund were able to score enough points to win the team trophy for Slayton Martial Center, making it the eighth time teams from Slayton have won the team trophy in 15 years that it’s been available. These kids demonstrated the awesome determination, competitive Tae Kwon Do spirit and sportsmanship we expect, and we really couldn’t be prouder.”
