Second grade tours End O Line Park

The Murray County Central second grade students traveled to Currie on Friday morning. Their journey took them to the End O Line Railroad park where the students learned about trains and their travels. They also sat in the old school room where they learned how students were taught in pioneer days. Janet Timmerman shared tales of station house where travelers gathered to wait for their train. Another stop included the red house where the students envisioned what it was like to live with no running water or electricity. A trek through the rail house gave them insight on hobo travels as well as a look at the railway, workers caring for the tracks, and the equipment used throughout the system. Students also had a chance to sit in the caboose on site and gained knowledge as to its use.
