To make up a game from earlier in the year, the Rebels played a doubleheader against Edgerton/SWC. Both games were hard fought, but the Rebels found themselves on the downside of each game.
The Rebels started off the scoring for the doubleheader in the top of the first inning. With one out, Kyler Deacon singled up the middle and quickly stole second base. An error in the field allowed him to scoot to third base shortly before a single hit by Danny Blankenship gave the Rebels the lead 1-0 on the RBI single.
A few innings later in the top of the fourth inning, Danny Blankenship led off the inning with a double to the fence in left field. After two quick outs, Blake Schmitz smacked a double to the right-center gap that scored Blankenship from second base that gave the Rebels a 2-0 lead. The Dutchmen got one run back in the bottom of the fourth inning off a fielder’s choice play. Later in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Dutchmen claimed the lead when a double and a one-out single scored two runs for Edgerton/SWC.
Despite giving up the lead, the Rebels tied the game back up in the top of the sixth inning with a run of their own. Justin Benda was hit by a pitch while a passed ball shortly after allowed him to go to second base. With one out in the inning, Blake Schmitz lined a single down the left field line that allowed Benda to score the tying run.
