The weather hasn’t cooperated much this spring leaving many events either canceled, postponed or crappy days to compete.
Fortunately, this was not the case on Tuesday when the Rebel track and field squads traveled to Tracy. The weather was very pleasant providing a sunny, mild temperatured day. This was the second time in a week’s time frame the competition has taken place in Tracy.
Justin Clarke and Aaron Johnson each picked up firsts with each winning two events. Clarke won both the 800 meters (2:10) and 1600 meter (4:52) events. Johnson crossed the finish line in the top spot in both the 110-meter hurdles (15.78) as well as the 300-meter hurdles (43.38).
Maverick Beckmann clocked an 11:57 in the 3200-meter race which earned him a fourth-place finish. Brayden Ahlers finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdle event with a time of 19:02 and cranked out a throw of 110’6” in the discus event which yielded a seventh-place spot. Rylan Behnke cruised to a sixth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.34.
