The MCC Rebel boys are back on more of a regular schedule after a busy month of January. With February comes a schedule of two games a week and more practice time to prepare for the up coming playoffs.
The Rebels traveled to Tracy on Tuesday night for a non-conference game against the TMB Panthers. The Rebels and the Panthers have had some great battles over the years with some great individual performances. Tuesday night we saw a great individual performance while the Rebels moved back above 500 with a win.
This game was a half court at a time contest that really tested the defenses in limiting good shots from great scorers. The Panthers trying to limit Cole Bassett’s open looks and the Rebels trying to slow down Spencer Smith. The Rebels were able to show their overall scoring depth as a team compared to the Panthers.
Moses Dolan opened the game with a three point basket for the Panthers. The next points scored by anyone not named Spencer Smith came very late in the first half by Jett Davis. Between the baskets by Dolan and Davis Spencer Smith scored 21 points. Single handidly keeping his team in the game.
