Finding entertainment in rural Minnesota can sometimes be a struggle, but downtown Slayton may soon have a new option.  Pete Beerman, leader at Three Ministries and owner of The Plaid Moose, is looking to convert the former Hometown Variety building into a multifunctional community center called:  The Franklin Center.

The Franklin Center’s mission is to be the local catalyst for noble entertainment, creative education, and joy-filled community.  The facility is aiming to become the premier conference, concert, and community event center for Murray County and the surrounding region.  By providing such a venue, Beerman hopes new and interesting opportunities will become Slayton’s new norm.

Located in the heart of Murray County, downtown Slayton, The Franklin Center will be a state-of-the-art rental space, equipped with full Audio/Video capability.  This will allow the space to host concerts, weddings, community dances, school functions, business meetings & conferences, trade & art shows, educational training, workshops, worship services, plays and dinner theater, and possibly more.
