1925 – Phyllis May Brinkman – 2018
Phyllis Brinkman, the daughter of Henry and Kunie (Miller) Basche, was born on December 15, 1925 in rural Fulda, Minnesota. She grew up on the farm and attended country school. Phyllis was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She worked in Worthington, Minnesota for a few years. Phyllis was united in marriage to Erwin M. Brinkman on May 12, 1946 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Fulda. After their marriage they lived and farmed south of Fulda. In 1973 they moved into Fulda and she began working at the Fulda High School as a kitchen aid for 21 years. Erwin died in January of 2016. Phyllis passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone, Minnesota at the age of 92. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, sewing and playing bingo.
Survivors include her five children: Tom (Marlies) Brinkman, Outing, MN, Brad (Karla) Brinkman, Lake Park, IA, Curt (Lisa) Brinkman, St. Louis, MO, Jill (Andy) Weiss, Adrian, MN and Nathan (Stacie) Brinkman, Waseca, MN; eight grandchildren: Brent (Stephanie) Nordstrom, Jeff Nordstrom, Corey (Amanda) Brinkman, Crystal Brinkman, Dana Weiss, Kelsea, Tanner, and Alexis Brinkman; five great-grandchildren: David and Bennett Nordstrom, Riley and Willow Brinkman and Caitlyn Brinkman; two sisters: Violet Pfingsten, Fulda, MN and Rose Marie Onken, Tracy, MN and sister-in-law Marcia Basche. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Bob, Harvey and Don Basche; two sisters: Marion Kramer and Betty Schnieder and great-grandson Justin Brinkman.
Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with Rev. Karla Kirkeby officiating. The organist was Roxanne Kremer. The pallbearers were Corey Brinkman, Crystal Brinkman, Brent Nordstrom, Jeff Nordstrom, Tanner Brinkman and Lyle Kramer. Interment at Worthington Memorial Gardens Worthington, MN.
