Are you a homeowner trying to recover from the flood of the summer of 2018? There may be additional help available.
Minnesota Housing is offering limited funding through their Quick Start Program. The Quick Start Disaster Recovery Program provides assistance as a last resort when private insurance and federal assistance are not adequate to return a damaged home to its pre-disaster condition.
According to Michele Clarke, Program and Lending Manager for Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership, the program works either over and above a Small Business Administration (SBA) loan, or is another alternative for those who didn’t qualify, or were denied, for an SBA loan.
Low-interest SBA loans authorize loan terms up to a maximum of 30 years. However, SBA sets the installment payment amount and corresponding maturity based upon each borrower’s ability to repay.
