Slayton, MN -The 2016 Minnesota 4-H State Dog Show was held at the State Fairgrounds on September 24-25. Murray County 4-H members Brooke Christian, Rebecca Surprenant, and Madelyn Vandendriessche, Currie Poco-a-Poco 4-H Club, and Shantel Kruger, Bondin Belfast 4-H Club, earned trips to state at the Regional 4-H Dog Show held in Nobles County in August.
At state, Brooke (8th grade division) and her dog Roxy received 1st Award of Excellence in Agility-Beginner, blue in Obedience-Novice, red in Agility-Jumpers 1, and blue in Showmanship-Open. Rebecca (10th grade division) and Bailey received a white ribbon in Agility-Jumpers 1. Madelyn (7th grade division) and Buddy received reserve champion in Agility-Jumpers 1, and blue ribbons in Obedience-Novice, Showmanship-Open, and Rally-Pre-Advanced. Shantel (7th grade division) and Holly received blue ribbons in Obedience-Beginner, Showmanship-Open, and Rally-Pre-Novice.
