Modern Woodman names Slayton Fire Department “Hometown Heros”

Cindy Robinson, Modern Woodman, began the ceremony with, “I am here today for two reasons, the first is in regards to our: Hometown Hero Program.”

This program provides us with the opportunity to recognize an individual or organization in the community for their outstanding service to the community or act of bravery.  As a volunteer fire department, you as individuals have chosen to take the time out to help your neighbors in the event of an emergence and putting yourselves in what can be a dangerous situation to provide help to those in need. So today you are being recognized by local members of Modern Woodmen Slayton chapter 487 and members of the community as our Home town hero’s . .
