Last spring the Murray County Central technology committee met to discuss needs of the district. One of those was the increasing need for additional computers in the classroom. As the district moves more and more towards the on-line learning environment, there is an increasing demand. Currently MCC has one mobile lab. With the help of Minnwest Bank and Minnwest Corporation, MCC now has four mobile lab carts containing 30 chrome book computers on each. Each of the four departments (math, science, English, and history) will receive a cart and will be shared amongst them.
Neal Everson, Slayton Minnwest Bank branch, approached MCC last spring explaining Minnwest Bank was looking to help with a project that maybe the school might not have funds to make possible. Minnwest Bank has a history of being very active with the school. “We wanted each student to have equality when it comes to learning,” shared Everson.
Minnwest Bank and Minnwest Corporation were able to fund the complete project of 120 Chrome books and 4 charging carts tallying $34,900.
