If you’ve traveled down Broadway Avenue over the past few weeks you probably noticed the transformation of the former Christiansen auction building located just south of Thrivent Financial.
Megan Kruger has long been a fan of bringing life into furniture and other items. This hobby has now moved forward and Kruger is excited to display her projects at 2512 Broadway Avenue in Slayton.
“Years ago I had a lot of things handed down to me,” explained Kruger when asked about what brought about this hobby. “I wanted to give these items new life and make them ‘my style’.” She continued by commenting, “Eventually my house was full.”
However, Kruger’s love of refurbishing didn’t end there. “I enjoy finding old furniture and things that are built well and giving them new life.” Kruger is happy to gather up items that most people will just ‘throw away’ maybe because they went out of style or just didn’t want anymore and turning them into beautiful pieces.
She began doing things for family and friends. Pretty soon others were contacting her to do projects for them. “The problem,” says Kruger, “I ran out of room in my husband’s garage and could basically do just one project at a time.”
