The MCC Rebels opened their home schedule on Friday night when they hosted the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Panthers in game two of the high school football season. Both teams came into the game with one win and no losses. The Rebels beat Springfield 27-14 in their first game while TMB knocked off Sleepy Eye Public 28-7.
The Panthers and the Rebels play for the ‘Helmet’ with the winning team each year taking the helmet to their trophy case until the next match up when it goes to the team that wins. The Panthers have held the ‘Helmet’ for the last several years and the Rebels were looking to change that. The Panthers entered the game ranked sixth in the state in class mostly due to last season’s great run to the state tournament.
The MCC Rebels looked even better than week one as the Panthers met a defense they just couldn’t crack.
