Monday, Murray County Central 5th grade students graduated from the D.A.R.E. Program, taught by Slayton police officer, Tom Whitehead. The program is designed to inform students about the negative effects drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and bullying. Each student wrote an essay reflecting on what they learned from officer Whitehead. Officer Whitehead had the challenging task of choosing just one essay from each class to be presented by the authoring student at the program’s graduation ceremony. This is Whitehead’s 17th D.A.R.E. class.
