Mae A. Kleven was born February 3, 1924 to Thor and Lydia (Holste) Kleven in Westbrook, Minnesota. She considered Westbrook her home for the majority of her long life. She usually returned home from her trips with souvenirs and photos from the areas she visited and shared her adventures with friends. Mae’s other interests included reading, volunteering, and history (she was a charter member of the Westbrook Heritage House).
