1930 – Louise Marie Gorman- 2019
Louise Gorman was born on December 9, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska to Albin and Gertrude Rerucha Kriz. Louise grew up in the Seward, Nebraska area and graduated from Seward High School in 1948. In 1953 the family moved to Worthington, Minnesota. On October 6, 1956, she and Emmett Gorman were married at St. Mary’s Church in Worthington. Following their marriage, they made their home in Currie, Minnesota. Louise worked for the City of Currie as the City Clerk for 32 years. Following retirement, she served on the Currie City Council for eight years. In June 2019 she moved to O’Brien Court in Tracy, Minnesota. Louise passed away at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the age of 88. She was a member of IHM Church in Currie where she served on the Parish Council, sang in the church choir and was active in the CCW. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Louise enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and being on her computer.
Survivors include her three children: Robert Gorman and his wife Cindy, Rochester, MN, Father Cyril Anthony Gorman OSB, Collegeville, MN, and Mary Cahill and her husband Robert, Grand Rapids, MN; four grandchildren: Andy Johnson and his wife Brittany and Benjamin Johnson, Benedict Cahill and his wife Stephanie, and Laura Cahill and Zack Churchill; one great-granddaughter Tess Johnson; one brother Mel Kriz Buffalo Lake, MN and one sister-in-law Eleene Gorman, Avoca, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Emmett; an infant brother; sisters-in-law Anne Gorman and Marie Gorman (John), and brothers-in-law: Joseph Gorman and John Gorman.
Funeral services are at the IHM Church in Currie, MN on Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Cyril Anthony Gorman and Msgr. R. Paul Heiting Concelebrating. The organist is Patty LeClaire with music by the IHM Choir. The pallbearers are Ben Cahill, Steph Cahill, Laura Cahill, Zack Churchill, Charles Gorman, and Leslie Gorman. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery in Currie, MN. Visitation continues at the IHM Church in Currie one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
