Paul Matsen from the Left Bank Cafe visited with residents at Slayton Rehabilitation and Care Center this past week. She spoke on the origin of coffee stating there are two different kinds of coffee – Arabica and Robusto. Matsen shared that coffee is grown in what is called the “coffee belt” which is an area 25 degrees above or below the equator. The coffee plant is the only plant in the plant kingdom that has multiple levels of growth happening on the plant at one time.
