1928 – Joyce Schweigert – 2019
Joyce Schweigert, the daughter of Gustave and Minnie (Kammeier) Knorr, was born on January 6, 1928 in Merrill, Iowa. Her family moved to Brewster, Minnesota when she was three and then to Lime Creek, Minnesota at age 10. She attended school in Lime Creek and graduated from the Fulda High School in 1945. Joyce was united in marriage to Clifford Schweigert on December 16, 1948 in Fulda, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived on a farm west of Fulda for 50 years until moving into Fulda. Joyce remained in her home after Clifford passed away in March of 2002. Joyce entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda in February of 2017 and passed away there on March 5, 2019 at the age of 91. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. Joyce enjoyed being creative; she knitted, crocheted and did embroidery. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, taking care of kids and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include her sister Lola Schwarz, Duluth, MN; many nieces and nephews; dear neighbors and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; eight brothers: Bill, Walt, Earl, Leonard, Don, Gus, Robert and Fred Knorr and two sisters: Wilma Noble and Darleen Cale.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019 with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating. The organist was Loretta Gehl. The soloist was A.W. Koopman. The pallbearers were Todd Knorr, Randy Noble, Mike Knorr, Jamie Kremer, Kim Knorr and Mike Baerenwald. Honorary pallbearers were Lee Holtrop, Dale Kremer, Mark Knorr and Ross Baerenwald.
