Jottings by Jerry – September 7

I went to Tracy for Labor Day and enjoyed the parade during their Box Car Days. It was an enjoyable time with relatives. I received my first banana that was handed out at a parade. I think it was my old guy look and they were in the senior care business. I guess it was a case of profiling. I also received a pencil, a large Tootsie Roll and a necklace. Not a bad haul for an old guy. Our current state political leaders were looking sharp and not missing a stride. The day went well. The rest of the weekend was work which needed to be done.

The dry spell is over. We seem to be caught back up to the high tide levels. This week should top us off for the season or we will need pontoons for the mower.

One evening I was in a bar talking to my friend.

“Last night, while I was out drinking, a burglar broke into my house..”

“Did he get anything?” asked my friend.

“Yes,” I said.

“A broken jaw, six teeth knocked out, and a pair of broken ribs. My wife thought it was me coming home drunk!”

There are two things a man cannot hide: The fact that he is drunk, and the fact that he is in love.

Have a good week.
