1969 – John Floyd Engbarth – 2017

John Engbarth was born March 11, 1969 in Slayton, Minnesota to William and Dianne Saxton Engbarth. He grew up in Slayton and graduated from Slayton High School in 1987. Following high school John worked for a short time in Texas roofing for his uncle before returning to Slayton. John then took a job working at Monfort in Worthington, Minnesosta. On February 26, 1996 he and Mary Danneman were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Following their marriage they made their home in Slayton where John worked for Avoca Spray Service and later for Page One Printers. John was currently working for the Murray County Parks Department as a parks maintenance worker. John passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 in rural Woodstock, Minnesota at the age of 48. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served on the Property and Management Board. John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, attending his children’s activities, spending time with the family dog, Bo, attending classic car shows, tinkering in the garage, admiring his 68 Camaro, and spending time outdoors.

Survivors include his wife Mary Engbarth; two children: Riley Engbarth and Brooke Engbarth all of Slayton, MN; father William Engbarth and his wife Carolyn, Riverside, CA, mother, Dianne Lundblad and her husband, Dennis of Beresford, SD; two siblings and their families: Jamie Engbarth and his wife Andrea, Beresford, SD, and Stacy Welch, Pipestone, MN and several other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother William Charles Engbarth II; paternal grandparents John and Georgianna Engbarth and maternal grandparents Floyd and Virginia Saxton.

Funeral Services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ted Kunze officiating. The organist was LaDean Lang with special music by Nikki Cheskie. The pallbearers are Brett Muecke, Brian Rosenberg, Curt Like, John Meyer, Gerald Holmes, Randy Ackerman, Justin Hoffmann, Nick Hanson and Heath Landsman.
