1935 – Jean Adeline Boyer – 2017
Jean Adeline Boyer was born on September 20, 1935 in Dolliver, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Martha (Sampson) Clark. She graduated from Sherburn High school in 1952. She was united in marriage to David Boyer on October 10, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Sherburn. After the death of David in 1985, two years later she remarried and moved to Murray, Kentucky for over 20 years. She had worked as a secretary for numerous companies. She passed away at Norris Square Assisted Living in Cottage Grove, Minnesota on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 81. Jean had a very strong faith in God and loved knowing she was saved. She was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Cottage Grove, where she sang lots of solos and duets. She formed a Bible Study at the Norris Square Assisted Living complex. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cook books. She was an avid reader of spiritual books, especially by Joyce Meyers and Dr. David Jeremiah. She had a great love of southern Gospel music and studying her Bible.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Ellen (Tom) Gross, Cottage Grove, MN and two sons: Kenneth Boyer, Las Vegas, NV and David Boyer, Hastings, MN; and three grandchildren: Logan, Andrea and Jacob Boyer. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David and two brothers: James and Quentin Clark.
Graveside service were held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Hauges Cemetery in Belmont Township with Pastor Steve DeKok officiating. Burial followed immediately afterwards at the cemetery.
