Marshall, MN – The Fulda/MCC Warriors travelled to Marshall last Thursday for a triangular dual against the Adrian Dragons and the Marshall Tigers. The Warriors fell 82-0 against the Marshall Tigers who attended the state tournament last year as a team. In the second dual against the Adrian Dragons, the Warriors fell 75-3 with Aiden Lorenzen walking away with the only win of the day.
Aiden Lorenzen in his second outing as a Warrior wrestler looked very strong against Bruce Farinella of the Adrian dragons. Aiden started the match with a quick single-leg takedown and got called for clasping as Farinella earned an escape and turned to take Aiden down. Farinella was then called for clasping as Aiden escaped. Aiden didn’t hesitate as he quickly took Farinella down again to end the first period 4-6 Aiden. The second period was all Aiden as he had a smooth escape and took Farinella to the mat twice to earn four points ending the second period 5-10 Aiden. Lorenzen wasn’t done yet as we went into the third period there was an early near fall as Aiden had Farinella in a tight cradle, but just wasn’t able to get his knee in the side to finish the move. As Lorenzen lost his grip on the cradle Farinella got a reversal which Aiden quickly turned to a reversal of his own. These two battled the distance in this match and Aiden was able to walk away with the win 16-11.
