David Newbatt has devoted most of his artistic career to living and working with children, adolescents and young adults with special needs. He has been an active member of Camphill communities, initially in England and for the past 29 years in Scotland, mainly Aberdeen.

This week Newbatt is sharing his passion for art with the residents of Slayton. Brother-in-law to Kelly Muldoon, Newbatt looks for projects when visiting with family in Slayton.

Newbatt specializes in education through the visual arts and drama. For the past 20 years when visiting, he spends part of his time working with clients at the Murray County Development Achievement Center. Their project this year involved painting a Scotland landscape.
