Funeral services were held at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton, MN on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. James Seitz officiating.
1926 - MaryAnn Streff - 2014

MaryAnn Streff was born on April 10, 1926 on a farm near Lismore, Minnesota to Emil and Margaret Gaul Hansen. As a young girl MaryAnn lived on farms near Granville, Iowa, Oyens, Iowa and later Lemars, Iowa where she attended country school. On October 19, 1948 she and Clifford Streff were married in Alton, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their home in Alton until 1958. They then farmed for two years southeast of Slayton, Minnesota then north of Currie, Minnesota for three years, north of Slayton for eight years, three years near Balaton, Minnesota and then near Hadley, Minnesota. In 1977 they moved to Slayton. Over the years MaryAnn worked at Penny Frocks, was bookkeeper for Culligan and was a Dietary Aide at the Slayton Manor. Clifford passed away on February 28, 1994. MaryAnn retired in 1997. In 2009 MaryAnn moved to Westside Apartments in Slayton.  In June 2013 MaryAnn became a resident of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda where she passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the age of 88. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Slayton and was active in the W.C.C.W. MaryAnn enjoyed spending time with her family, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, dominoes, potluck lunches with friends, gardening, fishing, camping, bird watching and traveling. 

Survivors include her seven children and their spouses: Lee and Loretta Steichen, Alton, IA, Daniel and Raynata Streff, Lake Norden, SD, Richard and Becky Streff, Sedalia, MO, Keith and Patty Streff, Savage, MN, Cindy and Lloyd Lorenzen, Elk River, MN, Mary and Les Morin, Slayton, MN and Tim Streff and Byron Richard, San Diego, CA; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Jerome Hansen and his wife Margo, Lemars, IA, Rita Pottebaum, Yuba City, CA, Emil Jr. Hansen, Slayton, MN, Margaret Hansen, Rochester Hills, MI and Millie Gearke of, Maurice, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifford;, sons: Mark and David “Smiley”; two granddaughters: Billi Jo and Lori; six brothers,: Cletus, Ambros, Alfred, Lawrence, Leonard and Gerald Hansen and two sisters,: Deloris Ludwig and Irene Leinen.

Funeral services were held at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton, MN on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. James Seitz officiating. The organist was Patty LeClaire. The song leader iwas LoAnn Hansen.  The pallbearers were grandchildren: Charity Petree, Lacey Dirks, Gina Smith, Sammi Cote, Logan Lorenzen, and Adam Lorenzen.  Interment is at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Slayton, MN. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton was entrusted with arrangements.  To send condolences visit totzkefuneralhome.com.
