Slayton City Council

June 4, 2014

holds discussion with several residents regarding upcoming Juniper Avenue Improvement slated to begin July 12
By: Rebecca Hudson Murray County News Staffwriter

The Slayton City Council Monday night held its Juniper Avenue Improvement Hearing with several property owners in attendance to voice their opinions and ask questions about the project.  Short, Elliot and Hendrickson (SEH) engineer  Mike Kuno was on hand to provide technical information regarding the street improvements that are being planned.

The project, which includes the street from Highway 30 (20th Street) to approximately 37' south of 23rd Street, will include replacing old 4" water main with 8" pipe, full street reconstruction, new storm sewer, curb and gutter, and ADA compliant sidewalks.  Total proposed cost of the construction, City Clerk Josh Malchow explained, is $376,000.  Kuno noted that the lowest bid received is right at that estimate.
