David Dorpinghaus, former Fulda High School graduate, has joined the First National Bank staff in Slayton as their new loan officer.

Dorpinghaus earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Business in 2006 from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota. Following graduation he worked at Wells Fargo Financial for a few months.

Prior to graduation Dorpinghaus had done a three week study abroad program with SDSU visiting Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, and Tibet. While working at Wells Fargo, Dorpinghaus received an email asking if he would like to teach English at the China Agricultural University for nine months. During this time Dorpinghaus spent time with the students - mostly visiting. He read the students’ papers and talked with them regarding the agriculture and the differences in culture in English.
