with another close game against the Chargers
The MCC Rebel boys were on the court in Worthington for Super Saturday as the playoffs got underway Saturday. The Rebels were playing the Westbrook Walnut Grove Chargers for the third time this season. MCC beat the Chargers the first two times by six and seven points and this game was played much like the second game in Slayton. The common phrase heard at this time of the year is that its always hard to beat a team three times in a row during a season and that might be true at times. Then again the Rebels were hoping to prove it wasnít so true if you are the better team. The Murray County Central Rebels broke a Super Saturday drought with a good performance and a win over the Chargers for the third time this season.

The Rebels in the first half did exactly what other teams have done to them including the Chargers of WWG by pressuring the point guard where ever he went. The Rebels quartet of Everson, Bass, Kluis, and Woldt pressured the Chargers top scorer and point guard Alex Knutson everywhere he went. The Rebels defense limited Knutsonís touches in scoring positions and forced him to use a great deal of energy just bringing the ball up the floor. The Rebels didnít give him a chance to rest and he played the entire first half.

As the Rebels defense wore down Knutson the rest of the Chargers offense struggled to get great shot opportunities. Shane Buckmann led WWG in the first half but he scored all of his points in a short stretch getting inside the free throw line scoring around the Rebel defense totaling seven points.
