The Section 3AA individual wrestling tournament was held over the weekend at the Luverne High School where members from the Fulda/Murray County Central Warriors competed in the tournament. Out of the wrestlers that competed in the tournament for the Warriors, three Warrior wrestlers came away with medals, and Sophomore Clayton Hartle came home with a ticket to the state wrestling tournament as the Section champion.

One of the three wrestlers that placed in the tournament was Freshman Jon Gehl. Since the tournament was split up between two days, any one who lost the first day had to wait until the second day for the wrestlebacks. Gehl, who started the tournament with a record of 7-18, fell by decision to Will Natte from Luverne 7-1, which gave him the rest of the first day off. On the second day, Gehl first matched up with Hunter Ranweiler from New Ulm and Gehl came away with a close victory by decision, 10-8. Later, Gehl matched up with Jared Rohloff from MAHACA and again, Gehl had a very close match.

He was able to advance with a 9-8 decision to wrestle once again against Natte from Luverne. Natte remembered his first opponent of the tournament and continued to pour on the offense. The 10-2 loss for Gehl sent him to the fifth place match. Nick Erbes from Marshall made sure Gehl didnít go any farther, however. At 120 pounds, Jon Gehl came away with a sixth place finish in his weight class.
