Recipes: Candy Cane Coffee Cake; Crispy Toffee Cookies; and Chocolate Mint Creams
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. With a shorter time between Thanksgiving and Christmas, decorations had to be put up quickly. This year I “found” several small artificial trees in a box that I didn’t know I had. Apparently it came with a group of things from a sale I attended, whenever that was. I also found in another box a hand carved village with a church, houses, trees and carolers. My plan was to display all the Santas this year and I think they are all out. The first one I received was in 1960 and although it has had to be glued back together a time or two it still holds a place of honor. Quite a few years ago when Devin was just a little girl, she’s a junior in high school now, she told me I should leave some of the Santas in the store so other people could buy them.
