The Slayton city council Monday night approved a liquor license request from LeRoy Scotting, owner of the Royal Supper Club in Slayton.  The council prorated the fee at a 50% rate, with the general liquor license at $675 and Sunday license an additional $100. Scotting estimates that the bar portion club will be open for business Sunday while the restaurant will be ready for use in two weeks.

The city will be purchasing playground equipment for Bicentennial Park from GameTime, a Golden Valley , Minnesota company.  The city has received donations from the local Girl Scouts of $5,000 and Women of Today of $3,000, and an additional “grant” of $22,616.10 from the GameTime Company.

Total cost of the play feature, “Kinsley’s Castle”, will be $35,686.10, and will be installed next spring at the park.
