October is a good month . . . . ..; Our government leaders have all forgotten why they were elected.
October is a good month with its cool nights and mild days, we hope. It's the harvest month, a time to gather the year’s bounty. It is also a time to start the next growing season, preparing the soil and making plans. October has a poets heart with an unlimited number of poems that includes the month in their lines of harvest, gatherings, rest and dying.

Our government leaders have all forgotten why they were elected. The idea is to compromise on the governing of the people. How far it will go is anybody’s guess at this time. The idea of shutting down the government should be the last thing that happens. Working thru the problems and moving to a common ground. Bringing a shutdown of government is costly in money and confidence. Both sides blame the other for the problem and its consequences. The price tag is estimated at two billion dollars. The confidence will take a long time. The rest of the week will be interesting but it could be weeks before we find the compromise that should have happened last week or before.

Being happy doesn't mean everything's perfect; it just means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections.

A wife got so mad at her husband she packed his bags and told him to get out. As he walked to the door she yelled, "I hope you die a long, slow, painful death." He turned around and said, "So, you want me to stay?"

Have a good week.
