The Rebels volleyball squad opened their season with two home games this past week. The steamy conditions in gymnasium had fans seeking out water and fanning themselves as they sat there in support of their favorite team.

The volleyball squad faced off with a very tough opponent on Tuesday night as the Minneota Vikings came to town, however, managed to grab the first game of the night, 25-18 The Class A fourth-ranked team shook off the opening to earn a 3-1 win over Murray County Central by scores of 25-10, 25-21, and 25-18.

The Rebels recorded 12 kills in the contest and was 15-for-16 serving with two aces. Bose had a dozen digs to go along with the only block of the night.

Libero Hannah Schmidt picked up 16 digs for the Rebels as well. Jade Giese also contributed 12 digs while Sierra Van Iperen is credited with 11.
