Murray County Medical Center (MCMC) welcomed its first patient into the new wing of the hospital on May 8th. One month later, Mel Snow, Chief Executive Officer for MCMC, stated “We’re hoping that the front entry of the hospital will open within another week.”

“We have progressed very nicely with the building project. All of the asbestos that needed to be removed has been removed. The new ambulance area is operational and workmen are working on the new purchasing area. Construction is scheduled to be completed by November, and although there are never any definites, it appears that will probably happen,” Snow explained.

The interior of the new hospital entry opens into a welcoming, well-lighted, earth-toned atrium area. A reception desk is in a prominent location to welcome those who enter there.

A long hallway provides access to various areas of the hospital including registration, patient rooms, family lounge, pharmacy, therapy, the cafeteria, and a coffee shop.

Patients coming to the hospital will find four private offices that have been established for registration purposes.
