Track and field at the collegiate level is a sport that most of us wouldn’t think about taking part in, but for Colleen Everson, that sport is almost a second nature. Known for her speed and records she set while in high school, Everson decided to continue her running career as she moves forward during her time running for the Augustana Vikings.

Going into each spring, Everson was always ready to go with her speed. After she played hard fought seasons on the volleyball and basketball teams, it didn’t take her long to get back into the running mode as compared to most others. Since she was in shape so quick, she was able to be very successful in almost every season as a runner. In fact, during her Junior and Senior years of high school, she qualified for the state meet twice where she got 2nd place in the 400 meter sprint and 5th in the 200 meter sprint. She also broke school records in the 400 meter, 200 meter, and the triple jump before she graduated in the spring of 2010.
