Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda, MN on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Stephanie Huisman officiating.
1925 - Lester Duane Czepa - 2012

Les Czepa was born on March 19, 1925 near Wirock, Minnesota to Emil Sr. and Johanna Popkes Czepa. He grew up on the farm and attended Knollenberg Country School. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Les was united in marriage to Genevieve Chepa on September 2, 1948 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Following their marriage they lived east of Fulda, Minnesota where they farmed until 1965 when they moved into town. He then worked as a salesman for Moorman Feeds. Les remained at home after Gen passed away in June of 2003. Les moved to the Centennial Apartments in Fulda in 2010. He entered the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in June of 2012 and passed away there on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the age of 87. He was a member of the Fulda Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon and an Elder. Les was a life member of the Fulda VFW Post 9017 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He also served on the Fulda City Council, delivered Meals on Wheels and helped start the Fulda Town & Country Golf Club. Les enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting, going to Antonio’s for coffee, playing cards and spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Gen also enjoyed traveling, having taken many trips and they had spent many winters in Arizona together.

Survivors include: his three daughters and their husbands: Vicki and Roger Deuschle, Fulda, Peggy and Craig Oakland, Hudson, WI, and Sandy and Bill Karel, Maplewood, MN; seven grandchildren: Chad Deuschle, Kristin (Jeromy) Peterson, Nicole (Brad) Johnson, Ryan (Debbie) Oakland, Adam (Tiffany) Oakland and Justin and Briana Karel; ten great-grandchildren: Michael and Kennedy Deuschle, Dylan, Ellie and Hayden Peterson, Sienna and Jagger Johnson and Adrian, Sage and Neco Oakland; two brothers: Emil Jr. “Junior” (Betty) Czepa, Fulda, MN, and Jim (Bonnie) Czepa, Woodbury, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son Ronald; a daughter Carol; two brothers: Walter and Francis Czepa and sister Dorothy Springman. 

Funeral services were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda, MN on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Stephanie Huisman officiating. The organist was Norma Meyeraan. The soloist was Lloyd Winter. Interment is at Prairie Hill Cemetery in Fulda, MN.
