A SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD

November 20, 2012 – 8:15 a.m. Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners convened with the following members present: Commissioners Moline, Magnus, Giese, Vickerman and Sauer. Also present Aurora Heard, Heidi Winter, and Paul Malone.

MSP to approve the agenda as modified.

MSP to approve the November 6 and November 13, 2012 minutes.

MSP that all claims as presented were approved for payment. The Chairman was authorized to sign the Audit List dated November 20, 2012 with fund totals as follows and warrants numbered 133689-133769:

County Revenue Fund 45,454.16

County Road & Bridge Fund 33,886.79

EDA 18.11

Ditch 173.25

Hospital Maintenance Fund 98.00

Sunrise Terrace Housing 662.03

Total 80,292.34

MSP that the Commissioners appointed as Inspectors in and for the County of Murray, are hereby instructed to examine and inspect that portion of the foregoing described County and Judicial Ditches, lying within the County of Murray, for the purpose of determining what repairs are necessary, and if deemed necessary, to prepare either a cost estimate of said repair, or order said repairs to be made, with a report to be given thereon at a Murray County Board of Commissioner’s meeting.

MSP to approve a letter of intent with the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging that the transportation department and VSO office intends to join the Minnesota Help Network to facilitate call referrals.

MSP to approve the purchase of an HP external disk backup from the Computer Man, Inc. in the amount of $1,185.77 from department 061, passed to approve the purchase of a HP DC8300 desktop computer in the amount of $658.99 from funds 061, 121, and 281 and passed to approve the purchase of reconditioned network switch from the Computer Man Inc. in the amount of $1852.96 from fund 061.

Open Forum/Public Comment – No members of the public were present.

MSP to approve advanced refunding for the G.O. Sewer Revenue Bonds, Series 2007 and 2007B (SAWS Bonds) resulting in a net debt service reduction of $205,504.59 over the life of the bonds.

MSP to approve final payment to R & G Construction for project SAP 51-600-04, Hudson Acre Road in the final amount is $343.14.

MSP to approve upgrading the security system at the End-O-Line Park from Safe and Secure Security Equipment in the amount of $1,145.

MSP to approve the updated Community Relations Coordinator job description with a change in the hours worked per week from 32 hours per week to 32-38 hours per week.

MSP to approve hiring Cathy Magnus as a regular part time administrative assistant in the Sheriff’s office with an effective date of November 21, 2012 and an hourly rate of $13.13.

MSP to approve hiring Marsha Hansen as a part time regular Sunrise Terrace Director with a start date of December 10, 2012 and an hourly rate of $17.86.

MSP to approve the classification change of Preston Olson from Intermittent to Regular Part-Time effective November 21, 2012.

MSP to approve a holiday open house and retirement reception for Bill Sauer and Kevin Vickerman on December 27, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

MSP to approve changing the MCIT delegate from Auditor / Treasurer Heidi Winter to County Coordinator Aurora Heard.

MSP to approve the Commissioner Vouchers for the period of October 28, 2012 to November 10, 2012.

MSP 11:20 a.m. to approve going into closed session for the County Coordinator’s six month performance evaluation.

MSP to approve Aurora Heard’s six month evaluation.

The meeting adjourned 11:50 a.m.
