No, the baking isn’t done nor are the presents ready but a look at the calendar says it is time to get serious about Christmas preparations. Maybe it was good that we got some snow the past couple of weekends as now it looks more like the season that we have come to know. Just last week I was visiting with someone who has spent most of her married life in warmer climates and now appreciates the changing seasons. There is something exciting not knowing what the weather will be the next day or sooner. Forecasters are quite accurate these days but even so weather is not a sure thing until it actually happens. Thirty percent snow means that seventy percent is clear and it may be within a few miles. Those of us that live close to the Buffalo Ridge know that on either side it can be quite a difference.
