The Minnesota Historical Society awarded the Murray County Historical Society a $2,000 Histroical and Cultural Program grant to help preserve their hard copy newspaper collection.
“We do have most newspapers on microfilm but have many hard copy newspapers stored on shelves in our newspaper room,” shared director Diane Clerex. With this grant money one hundred deep lid buffered boxes have been purchased along with unbuffered acid free tissue paper to put between the papers to help preserve the copies. With these archival boxes, the newspaper room will be more user friendly and better order if hard copy newspapers are needed for research. |
