The Slayton City Council Monday night approved several budgeted items for purchase after January 1, 2013. Public Works Director Darwin Johnson told the council that all bids were in line with the budget except for the pallet fork, which came in higher than expected. The fork and lift station pump will be paid for from the water fund.
On tap for purchase from Slayton Equipment includes a two-stage John Deere snow blower from Slayton Equipment, for $9,279.00. With trade in the final cost for the equipment will be $7,374.38; 48" rail pallet fork and guard for $1,255.79; and a hydro-garden tractor for $2,581.03. Also approved was the purchase of a lift station pump for $7,100.00.
