key to success of End O Line and Murray County Historical Museum | |
|
Following the completion of the assessments done at both the End O Line Museum and Park in Currie and the Murray County Historical Museum, Slayton, a group recently gathered to discuss future paths of these two entities. The goal was a Murray County Parks and Museum management plan and how to assure a strong, sustainable structure that best serves the needs of Murray County citizens.
This group included all five county commissioners as well as newly elected Dave Thiner and James Jens, museum director and assistant, Diane Clerex and Jolene Johnson, along with other county staff, parks and historical society boards, and other interested community members.
Each of those present received a printout of the assessment done this past summer. They were then asked to complete a survey following the review of the assessment.
Tuesday’s meeting was held to help decide how the county as well as the museums and parks can best forward. The group met and then broke out into groups and were asked to come back with ideas addressing the different areas on concern. The group was asked to be creative, think collaboratively, listen to understand and what is considered to be sustainable.
