During the last all-school reunion there was much discontent among former Slayton High School athletes that found none of their achievements left in the gym trophy cases.

Word got around that the SHS athletic school history was tossed, making room for a new school history.

Itís interesting, none of the delemma would have come to gruition if the school officials would have walked across the parking lot and presented these trophies to the Murray County Museum. Now, that is water under the bridge, and SHS history became a part of the Cottonwood Landfill.
