Felber welcomed

November 7, 2012

to White Coat Ceremony
Renee Felber of Slayton, Minnesota, was among the 130 first-year dental, dental therapy and dental hygiene students welcomed to the dental profession in a White Coat Ceremony held September 14 at the University of Minnesota. Felber is one of nine students enrolled in the University’s Program in Dental Therapy. She is pursuing a Master of Dental Therapy degree. A traditional rite of passage in many health profession programs, the White Coat Ceremony recognizes students as they begin their professional education. The students were all given white coats.

“In the clinic setting, professional attire evokes the trust and respect of patients,” says Dr. Leon Assael, DMD, dean of the School of Dentistry. “The White Coat Ceremony impresses upon future practitioners the significance of that trusting relationship and celebrates their commitment to the goals of professionalism, ethical practice, scientific and technical expertise, and compassionate service to others.”
