The MCC cross country team hosted their meet during Homecoming this past week with a number of teams on hand to compete. On a perfect night for running, the Rebels were able to show great times on their home course.
For the girls varsity race, it was Luverne that had the edge. When all the runners were coming down the fairway of hole three at the Slayton Country Club towards the finish line, Luverne had four runners in the top ten and that helped them go on to win the team title for the invitational. For the Rebels, the first runner to cross the finish line was Melissa Gehl. She came sprinting across the finish line with some room to spare over the runner behind her.
