Rebels preserve Homecoming with a win over the Lakers | |
|
The MCC Rebels were wrapping up a great homecoming on Friday night with a Little Sioux Conference game with Lakeview. The Rebels Volleyball team had won their two games during the week and the Cross Country team had the game ball run in from Lakeview. The Lakers have not won a game since October 1, 2010, and the Rebels were not going to allow them to get a win let alone on homecoming.
The Rebels took control of this game on their second possession of the game. Jack Thony got his second carry of the game and sprinted 41 yards for a touchdown and Mitchell Reinsma scored on the two point conversion to take an 8-0 lead with 9:49 to play in the first quarter. The Rebels added to their lead on their next possession when Jack Thony had his third run of the game over 25 yards for another touchdown and Reinsma would put the Rebels up 16 to 0 ending the scoring in the first quarter.
