The newest of several wind farms in the southwestern Minnesota area is presently being erected in the Reading-Wilmont area of Nobles County.
Community Wind South, which features community ownership by the landowners, is in the process of erecting 15 two mega-watt turbines.
Operated by juwi Wind, these turbines will be the tallest in Minnesota to date, according to Aaron Peterson, Community Relations and Regulatory Affairs Manager. “They will be over 430 feet to the top of the blade, to get more wind, and make more power,” Peterson said.
