I was so positive there was one more cucumber in the garden although I wondered how that could be as the vine had seen better days. I reported it to Robert saying it needed a few more days to grow. He looked for about five minutes he said and didn’t find it. I also looked again and couldn’t find it and as I reported last week was certain it had disappeared somehow. Well to make a long story short as I was out picking a tomato I glanced over to where I was sure the cucumber was hanging a few days before and there it was. No it hadn’t grown any more but neither was it over ripe. This time I picked it and sliced it up before anything else would happen to it. Onion, vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper and it was ready to eat. How our eyes can deceive us at times.
