Kkey for McNab children as they prepare for the fair

It's hard to say who is the friskiest: Mary Lou McNab or the horse and sheep that she cares for. As she flits across the pasture with horse Pepper on a cool August afternoon, the two make quite a lively duo. She and big brother Matt, are busy preparing their animals for this year's Murray County fair and have been spending plenty of quality time with all of them.

At age 14, Matt is a five-year veteran at handling sheep and cows in the arena. This year he will be showing three sheep as well as a young red Holstein calf. "We really should name her," Matt tells his dad Mike, of the white and russet colored cow. "How about Rheba," his dad replies.  "Red",  Matt suggests, or maybe "Cinnamon".  The contented bovine doesn't seem to mind not having a moniker, as she sidles alongside Pepper and Mary Lou for a photograph. The foursome make a fetching sight to see.
